I was recommended to this doctor by my PC. I have been through SO many gynecologist that don't seem to care and don't listen. I saw Sabrina.... what a life changer! Her care and compassion are above board and I could not of asked for a better experience! I have a lot of female issues and she was patient in addressing every one of them! The staff is just as amazing... very nice, professional and personable! I would give them 50 stars!!!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Shoals and his team! I drove almost an hour each way to be seen at his office, and I’d do it again without hesitation. Any time I had a question or needed more details, they went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and was very informed. What really sets this place apart is the people, you can tell they truly enjoy what they do. At some offices, you can feel when employees are just there for a paycheck. But during such an important and sacred time like pregnancy, you want people who care and are passionate about helping you through it. That’s exactly what I found at Shoal’s Center. I’m so thankful I met Dr. Shoals. He safely delivered my son and made sure I had all the aftercare I needed. This team made me feel supported every step of the way. 10/10 — highly recommend!

Dr. Sholes and NP Nancy are the greatest team and I feel so blessed to have been in their care during my entire pregnancy. Every office visit was greeted with smiling faces and loving people to where I felt like family. Once delivery time arrived Dr. Sholes had me at such ease to the point where myself and the nursing staff at saint marys were having a blast. I was very lucky for a perfect delivery and I owe it all to Dr. Sholes. Once I came for my postpartum check up I brought my sweet little with me to meet all the amazing people who took care of us for 9 months and was so sad that I wouldn’t be seeing Dr. Sholes and NP Nancy weekly anymore. Put your trust in this team, truly the greatest and highly informed group of people here. Once we have our second little one, I know exactly who to contact ☺️ So much love for everyone here! ~ Morgan Garza and baby Silas

Dr.Sholes just delivered my sweet baby girl! I felt very comfortable with him because I had heard great things about him and he is very professional. At the couple appointments I met with him, he would answer all my questions and reassure me throughout the process. The women nurse practitioners are also amazing!! I loved seeing Nancy and Sabrina for my checkups. They are both so sweet and caring. This is the best OB/GYN I have ever been to!

I’ve been holding off on leaving a review but now that’s in been almost a year since my delivery - I’ll start off by saying everyone in the office, including Dr. Sholes, were the nicest people! I never had a bad encounter with any of them. It was a breath of fresh air switching OBGYNs. 10/10 for the staff. Now for the part that kinda gets me is the “lack” of care - I only had to pee in a cup once, MAYBE twice. I never thought anything of it until Dr. Sholes ordered a blood panel at my 36 week appointment. It came back that I had gestational thrombocytopenia (low platelet count). I had to be induced at 39 weeks and given steroids a few days prior to delivery. While all that seems standard, I went back through my bloodwork and my platelets showed the first sign of being low at my 10 week appointment. Then again at my 20 something week appointment. Which seems to me like I should’ve been seeing a high risk doctor from the start to avoid everything that happened during labor and delivery, which also makes me wish I would’ve gotten more urine samples JUST IN CASE. One of the nurses who was talking me through the induction plan was confused why the high risk doctor ordered my steroids intravenously instead of the pill. While that also seems to do no harm, my platelet count didn’t have the chance to come up enough before delivery and I blame the pills. I took the pills for 3 or 4 days before my induction, got my blood panel at the hospital when I got admitted, was told my counts still weren’t where they needed to be for an epidural and was never given another steroid (which I was also told I would be given as soon as I got to the hospital - didn’t happen either). No pill, no IV, nothing. Mind you, I was not in labor yet. I came in at 8:00pm and wasn’t even given my first cytotec until 2:00am and then pitocin was supposed to be at 6:00am. Sounds to me like there was plenty of time to do something to get me where I needed to be for the epidural. I needed to be in the 100s and at 8:00pm I was at a 94. As soon as I was given the cytotec at 2:00am, full blown labor hit. I went into the induction at 3cm dilated and was 6 or 7cm by 6:00am - progressing beautifully (aside from the back labor that was so intense I could barely breathe or move). I was STILL ordered pitocin at 6:00am. I asked my nurse if it was necessary since I was progressing, in tremendous pain and didn’t wanna add the pain of pitocin. Her exact words were “I’m sorry, Dr. Sholes loves pitocin.” And I was still given pitocin. Fast forward to it being time to push, it was in my birth plan to not push on my back and yet I still had to. I was in too much pain to argue or tell anyone to do what I asked. Something that I’ve done my research on now that I’m passed the trauma of my delivery is that it’s outdated for a doctor to do something called “manual stretching” which being unmedicated hurt me more than the back labor. Every time I wanted a break from pushing, it was because I needed his hands to stop stretching me. I understand that every doctor does it differently and somethings are medically necessary. Just like my baby needing to be vacuumed out even though it was in my birth plan not to be, it saved me from needing a c-section. I’m not upset about that whatsoever. I don’t know how medically necessary it was to give me an episiotomy that resulted in a second degree tear, once again I’m not upset about that. I am upset that I’m almost a year postpartum and the area from the episiotomy is still giving me issues. But, that probably also saved me from a c-section. This review is not meant to be a bad review and I’m not bashing this practice by no means. I’m in a clear headspace now and just simply feel robbed of my first labor and delivery. It was without a doubt the most traumatic thing I’ve ever experienced. I will not be back to this practice for any future pregnancies. If you take anything from my review - please do a lot of research before deciding on an obgyn. I was probably a rare case and this practice just wasn’t what I needed.

Dr. Sholes is simply outstanding. He delivered both my son and daughter via C-section, providing exceptional care every step of the way. His demeanor, clear communication, and surgical expertise made the experience smooth and reassuring. Dr. Sholes, Nancy, Sabrina and his excellent staff genuinely listened to my concerns and ensured I felt safe and supported throughout. I’m beyond grateful for their care and highly recommend him to anyone seeking an excellent OB.

I’ve been going to this office for about 3 years now. I have gone to them thru a couple of miscarriages, a full term pregnancy, & I’m half way thru another pregnancy and I will never go anywhere else. I actually live over an hour away now but I couldn’t imagine trusting anyone else to care for me or my baby. They are the best. So friendly, personable, and always ready to answer any questions at all. I feel welcome as soon as I walk in the door at every appointment. I have absolutely no complaints what so ever.

I will never go anywhere else. I love this whole team. Everyone in the office is so nice and they care about you and your health. Dr Sholes delivered my third baby and it was my best labor experience of all three babies. He is so nice and very good at what he does. It was my first time having a male dr deliver one of my babies and I’ve always been nervous about that but he exceeded expectations. I usually see NP Nancy in the office and she is the absolute best. I love her! She always treats me with compassion. She listens to my concerns and gives me solutions. She’s gentle (if you know, you know). They all make going to the gyno not so bad. I will always recommend them to everyone.
