It's a beautiful place of healing with lots of different services offered. I was able to make an appointment within 24 hours of first contact. Communication is on point and everyone makes you feel very welcome. After my treatment of acupuncture with Tony, I feel already 💯 better. …

I’ve been going to Thrive for years and have done every service they offer at least once. There’s not one person or treatment I wouldn’t swear by. All is HSA eligible through my insurance as well!! If you have the time, your body and mind will thank you endlessly.

Dr. Allison is the best intuitive chiropractor. She has a wonderful Energywork background so I love being able to talk energy. She helped me have a successful VBAC too with my youngest. I will always refer friends and bring my family to see her for realignment & assessment. Trust her guidance!

Always a pleasant visit. I’m in my third trimester and these weekly chiropractor visits with Dr. Allison Kennamer have definitely made a significant difference and I plan on continuing during postpartum.

Carmen is an absolute delight. She has provided massage therapy services for my first responder employees in a professional, intuitive way. Each client she worked on indicated the session was helpful in improving issues they were experiencing, and a desire to seek out more services with her in the future. It is clear she is skilled and experienced at helping people to down-regulate their body from stress, put it in a state that allows for healing, and then promoting healing through various tactics. She also thoughtfully helped to coordinate more massage therapy services for other groups of my employees who have now been well served.

Another accupuncturist I’ve worked with recommended Ashley who was on vacation for a few weeks so the office manager recommended that I see Tony instead. I drove an hour and a half each way from Atlanta to Athens specifically because this practice came highly recommended. I’m going to preface my full experience with this. I heard an interesting comparison today that prompted me to write this review; “The police are to Black men, what doctors are to Black women”……. Let that sink in. Racism in medicine is very well documented historically and Black women of ALL socioeconomic backgrounds have similar health outcomes and experiences in America and it’s based in the myth that we don’t feel pain and when we say we are in pain we are not believed. Specifically in Georgia the Black maternal mortality rate is that of a developing country. With that being said, I’ll move on to my experience with Thrive. The first visit things seemed fine until he put the largest needle possible in my foot. I was in extreme pain and I asked him to remove it and use a smaller needle. Okay, honest mistake….. or so I thought at the time. I subsequently had a session with the out of state practice of the accupuncturist who’d referred me and I asked her about the needle size. I was told that there is absolutely no medical reason to use a larger needle; and in fact, it’s not advised. She told me the brand that she uses, and that they are the smallest and best on the market. I went back for my second visit with Tony and bam, huge needle in my foot again. Once again, I asked him to remove it. Third visit, same thing. At this point I’m annoyed because is this intentional? Is he this forgetful? Why isn’t this in my chart? Fourth and final visit….. this time I just wanted to see what he would do, so I didn’t say anything preemptively. What happens? Take a wild guess. Huge needle again. At this point I’m taking it personally and I won’t be back. The practice seems decent otherwise with good reviews, but I certainly would not recommend this as a safe establishment for Black women or Black people.
