My husband and I had a great experience here. We were greeted and welcomed when we walked in. My engagement ring had worn down and broken. Chris was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us our options and moved my stone to a beautiful new setting on the spot. Other jewelers had said it was take two weeks. He gave us a great deal as well. We will do business with them again!

The owner is literally amazing ! The jeweler does fantastic work . The selection is out of this world ! If you need a small gift for someone or if you need a heirloom piece of jewelry for a wedding anniversary you will find it here ! There is something for every budget ! And if they don’t have it , they will order it for you ! I prefer family owned businesses and this is the only store I shop at !

So I can finally post a review now that I have proposed! I can't say enough good about Christine and Thornton. I shopped at Shane company before I decided to look elsewhere due to Shane Co pushy, unprofessional sales staff. I read reviews from around Athens jewelry stores and decided here due to how many years they've been around. She sold me a diamond that was way less than the diamond I had chosen after showing me how it would look. She brought up the fact that a big diamond may not look right in a halo setting. That's how you know you're dealing with professionals who want you happy with your purchase. She guided me to want I wanted and needed to buy instead of selling me the most expensive diamond she could. We'll be getting the set and everything else made there. Check out their custom-made UGA stuff, too. Its awesome.

I am so pleased with my experience at Thornton Fine Jewelry! Christine Thornton gave me confidence. She sorted through my jewelry ( that I had in a drawer for over 15 years). Some of the items were worthless but others were valuable. I trust her completely. She provided the valuations for the insurance company. And most importantly she helped me put three of the diamonds in a new setting. She helped me create a beautiful ring. She is a wonderful resource here in Athens Georgia!

Without an appointment, I took my favorite sports watch in for a new battery and band cleaning. They were happy to oblige on the spot, and not at all condescending like other jewelers in Athens. The store had many interesting items to look at during the quick 'repair' time. My old watch is good as new and I'm impressed with their friendliness and attention to customer service. I’ve recently discovered a wonderful jewelry store located in Athens Georgia named Thornton’s. The owner and the one friendly sales lady I’ve had the awesome experience of dealing with seem very knowledgeable and professional. My grandfather was a jeweler when he was alive so I know a few things, but these lady’s are up to date and are very patient explaining any questions I had. I highly recommend the owner and the sales lady named Emily. Both are easy to work with.
