I normally like Sunny , they have things you can’t find elsewhere, good prices, clean and neat but I hate all the traffic I have to drive thru so I don’t bother going anymore. Great for those who live on the Eastside.

I’ve supported this business for over 20yrs now and they are the most helpful people I’ve ever met! I really appreciate your service to the Athens community! Thank Sunny’s Beauty Supply Store!!

PROS: Providing at least one star because of a seemingly decent VARIETY (but didn’t look around enough ) and LOCATION. CONS: the big one is pricing but I detail that last. CUSTOMER SERVICE. No one greeted or asked how they could help. This is odd to me because where I moved from in NC the employees are very welcoming and helpful. I also received little assistance trying to navigate their narrow aisles. No one offered to help grab items or even hold the door upon my exit. I’m a mother of three small children under three and in NC It seems people are happy to make things easier on moms. My twin stroller could barely fit with the tightness of their store. I’m used to a neighborhood feel beauty store, this place was cold and not welcoming. SMELL. I was surprised by the odor of the store . One of my children asked me if there were gas. I’m concerned we stayed in the store as long as we did. It was a profound gas like odor. And poor ventilation. PRICING. Way to high for me. I thought the pricing seemed excessive but it wasn’t until I got home to compare to my empty bottles that it was confirmed. The hair was also higher. Their packs were like 9.99 but back home the same brand was 6.99. Their products were a dollar or three more ( picture attached. Their pricing had the green label). And the edge control I typically buy in NC is 9 , theirs was 13.99. I would not be returning for the pricing alone .

As a professional stylist I get some of my accessories at Sunny’s and the hair that I need for braids, crochet braids, wigs and sew-ins , as well as quick weave extensions , they always accommodate me and the staff is very professional , thank you 🤩 …

They treat you like a thief the second you walk in the door. Extremely unwelcoming with a lack of customer service. Very rude and they make you feel very uncomfortable. The man in the store stands behind the counter with his arms crossed glaring at you as if you bothered him for coming to shop. Very rude, very racist, very unprofessional. LEARN HOW TO PROVIDE ACTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE !! If I could do 0 stars I would.

Sad this is one of the only black beauty supplies in Athens. They don’t have price tags and when you call for a price check, they don’t “give prices over the phone” which is an insane business practice. Do better.

The products are definitely great and before the current ones they serve it was super to go shopping there…. Definitely, the attention is state-of-the-art, very rude... racist people who don't allow you to freely choose what you need... it was very uncomfortable to go shopping there, they even ask you to leave if you're not going to buy 👎🏻

I was excited to see the variety and availibility in this store as i has yet to find a beauty supply store that had everything I wanted since moving from South Florida. My feeling quickly fell into an abis. (Please note: this store has a no camera policy that they take overly serious) I was so busy trying to gather pricing and keep track of how much the supplies I would need cost that I hadn't seen the signs (which were way above eye level). The manager approached me very aggressively and asked "what are you doing". By which, I stated I was gathering pricing for a hair style was planning on doing and if there was a problem. He then proceeded to say yes there's a problem, no camera in my store. I then apologized. And he followed up by asking if a worked for joy joy and what am I doing here.. (proceeded to look me up and down as if I had stolen something, mumbling under his breath in his language)... Clearly they are having rival issues, which really has nothing to do with me. Even afterwards the boy at the register came up to me aggressively. I tried to apologize perfusely and even told him that I was looking for a product they had but in a different color and even left my number for them to order it for me... But truthfully I have never felt the level of discrimination or racism that I felt there. Granted I was wearing my "doing my laundry clothes" on a very cold day, just after grooming my white Siberian husky (and I was wearing all black) but it doesn't excuse being treated less than human. And it doesn't excuse the fact that I was in tears after leaving the store. I would have considered being a long-standing, dedicated customer, had I not had such a terrible experience. It's really sad because I'm a great promoter of small businesses, but I guess I'm off to amazon to have a drone deliver what I need.
