If you’ve never been to Ace Hardware in Colbert, GA, you’re missing out on one of the finest small-town treasures around. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the kind of genuine kindness that feels straight out of The Andy Griffith Show — I half expect to see Andy, Barney, and Aunt Bee shopping for paint brushes and fishing line every time I’m there. 😂 From David to Otis to Benjamin, these folks don’t just run a hardware store… they run a cornerstone of the community. They’re honest, fair, and always ready to help (even when I have no idea what tool I actually need). It’s more than good service… it’s friendship, it’s trust, and it’s good people doing good things for their neighbors. Shopping there is always a pleasure — you walk out with what you need, and usually a smile too. I can’t say enough about how valuable this place is to our town and how much I appreciate the family that runs it. Keep it up, y’all… Colbert wouldn’t be the same without you! ❤️🔧

I was trying to return a small pvc pipe that I didn't need. It still had the barcode sticker and I had my receipt but neither of the two young employees could get the item to scan. They told me that I must take it back to the same exact store it was purchased from. It's only a $4 part, I'm going to try a larger Ace store before I drive out to Winder for this..

This place is hit or miss. I have had great service at times and then very bad services.

Incredible small-town service from these guys. They know their products, provide great service, and genuinely value their customers. I had some chainsaw work done while I waited instead of having to drop it off like all the other places in the Athens area. I highly recommend them!

My service at Colbert Hardware has been Excellent. Everyone has been helpful and friendly. They serviced my zero turn, my 4 wheeler, and chain saws. So glad there are still dependable people like them.

Went to Ace hardware, last minute, Christmas Eve, for light bulbs. The young man let me in and helped me get what I needed. Exceptional help, after closing. Thank you from another Ace hardware store manager.

Cannot believe how lazy and inconsiderate the male cashier was today at the Colbert Ace Hardware. It was 15 minutes till closing when I arrived and attempted to find a plumbing item on my own before asking for help when I couldn't locate it. I went up to the register and asked the gentleman, an older hippie/biker type with bandana headband, if someone could help me.... he immediately said no, he was stuck at the register. I asked if there was someone else who was able to assist me... I was completely dumbfounded, “You mean there is no one in this store who can help me find what I’m looking for? I’m the only customer in the store.” He said "No, Ms. Beth and me are the only two here.” Fortunately, there was a young man with a cute puppy who said he would help. Found out he was an employee who came in for something and volunteered to assist me off the clock. This young man went out of his way to help and not be paid when a paid employee wasn’t willing to do anything but stand behind the register. All this cashier had to do was lock his drawer and walk a few isles down. He knew there were zero customers in the store. I heard him counting his drawer when I first went back to look. Why do people apply for customer service positions when they possess absolutely no customer service skills and have no desire to? Better yet, why isn’t the owner reading these reviews and correcting the issues?

Today's bad attitude by staff was the last straw. They are rude, plain and simple. Their apparent "policy" of not putting prices on items is completely unreasonable and they get a snappy attitude when you ask them why nothing in the store has a price on it. I mean, that's weird, and completely inconvenient. I've not been thrilled by this Ace before but after today, they've lost my business forever. In stark contrast, I recommend the Ace in Danielsville where the staff was friendly and helpful- a gentleman even carried an awkwardly sized purchase to my car for me.

David and Alissa were fantastic and helped me get my mower deck straightened out. You can’t get that kind of service anywhere else these days. Thank you guys!
