Serenity Grove Detox is a wonderful program to detox and mellow your emotions out coming back to reality they have a wonderful staff to help you. I've been to other rehabs and this is best I've ever been to They really do care and work with you they are very compassionate. After my 30 day detox I transitioned to the next level of care where I learned to do things for myself and not relying on someone else to make your decisions for you but also taught you to return to a life without drugs and alcohol they really help you dig deep into fixing your emotional issues and navigating this crazy world we live in. I became very close with all the people who run the program and the clients there Everyone has your back and I cried when I had to leave but I'm off to bigger things. CHOOSE SERENITY GROVE WHERE COMPASSION AND HOPE LIVE! HUGS Dana P

My boyfriend passed away in this rehab center detoxing from alcohol. He laid in bed for hours before anyone found him / determined he was passed away. This place disgustingly handled his passing, and my boyfriend wrongfully died somewhere he was SUPPOSED TO BE SAFE!!!!! Rehabs exist to keep addicts alive. This one sure as hell barely even tried. Do not send anyone here if you would like to see them come home alive.

My experience working with Serenity Grove has been nothing but positive. The team is professional, compassionate, and truly committed to making a difference. I especially want to highlight Cam, he’s been amazing to connect with, always responsive, helpful, and a true partner throughout the process. Highly recommend!

As proud as I am to share my recovery story… I’m equally PROUD to say that it all started at Serenity Grove in July of 2022. After calling numerous facilities (via 3-way calling with my family on the other line) we all knew, after hanging up with Serenity, that it was the place for me. The warm & inviting tone of the staff (from intake calls, to checking in… nursing staff & counselors…) melted away the stress & anxiety many of us feel when seeking substance abuse help, and allowed me to focus on getting well. Everyone was incredibly professional and caring… and because many of them have a personal connection to recovery - their knowledge & experience were pivotal in reminding me that I was/am not alone… and that RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE! I will forever be grateful for my 34 days at Serenity Grove.

I was very grateful for the welcoming and competent staff upon arrival. Attentive to all medical treatment in a timely fashion. They have great amenities and decent food. Nice landscaping and nice post detox apartments for the clients. Way better than most state-run or correctional system facilities. It's no high end Beverly Hills treatment center or anything but anyone who leaves bad reviews are more than likely overly entitled and/or not really serious about getting help that's available and is wasting the time and resources of their insurance and probably those of his or her family

Serenity Grove in Athens, Georgia, truly changed my life. I attended their mental health PHP and IOP programs with supportive housing, and from day one, I felt respected, safe, and genuinely cared for. One thing that stood out to me was that they gave me my own room—something that’s a big deal in a recovery setting and made a huge difference in my comfort and privacy. The counselors and therapists there are top notch—compassionate, knowledgeable, and really committed to helping you heal. After my first month, I was even allowed to work, which gave me a sense of independence and progress. I’m so thankful I chose Serenity Grove’s mental health program. If you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or anything else that feels overwhelming, I would absolutely recommend this place. They helped me get my life back.

When my brother reached a breaking point in his substance use, we were desperate to find somewhere safe — and fast. As someone in recovery myself, I know how fragile and critical those early days can be. You want to believe there’s a place that will truly hold and stabilize someone, not just “process” them. But when it’s your person, when they’re in crisis, making that decision feels impossible. We chose Serenity Grove, and I can honestly say: it was the right choice. My brother spent two weeks there. After months of not sleeping, he was able to rest the very first night. That might not sound like much to some people, but anyone who’s experienced severe anxiety or withdrawal knows — that kind of peace is a gift. He quickly began to feel safe. Supported. Cared for. He connected with a couple of the nurses in a way that gave him real comfort. That matters more than anything when you’re raw, detoxing, and unsure if you can keep going. He’s still navigating some anxiety — that’s to be expected after years of heavy Delta-8 and Delta-9 use. But it’s no longer debilitating. He can close his eyes without panic. He had only one full-blown panic attack during his stay, and it was the day before he discharged — a testament to how much he was able to stabilize. The truth is: he didn’t get to that place overnight, and he’s not going to get back to himself overnight either. Time takes time. Recovery is a process. It’s about learning to stay, to trust the slow healing, to let the nervous system reset — moment by moment. Serenity Grove created the kind of environment where that slow beginning could actually happen. For anyone out there trying to decide where to send someone they love, I just want to say: I’ve been where you are. It’s terrifying. But Serenity Grove didn’t just “handle” my big brother — they held him. And they gave both of us something we hadn’t felt in a long time: hope.

Serenity Grove came at a critical crossroads in my recovery, and the staff and programming put me back on track to the beautiful life that I inhabit now. I have had other treatment experiences and would highly recommend Serenity Grove without reservations. If you are ready and serious about changing your behavior and outlook on life, Serenity Grove will provide the space and conditions for doing that. The people become family and as you bare your soul, they stand with you as you shed the trauma and turmoil, and then, they collectively cheer you on as you recreate a life with opportunities that you hadn’t even imagined. Thank you, Serenity Grove!

I can only speak to the intake process for a loved one but from the moment I called they were there to comfort me as much as my loved one. They saw the fear and sadness in my eyes and were there to instill trust and comfort me. I even got a hug before I left. I am happy that we found SG.
