I believe Athens is a fantastic place. However, I was in another wing awhile before. I thought I was going to the same place… not so. The wing I was in before was great! This last one I was in was t so great. Much deleting your techs. Most of them uncaring. It was very discouraging. Please check on that because your techs can be bad for you. … if they are bad .. that will be your reputation.

1st Class Experience I had a stroke and came to Encompass heavily dependent on a walker. My big goal was to leave using a cane. Instead, I walked out without assistance—doing jumping jacks too! Thank you to EVERYONE for creating an experience where my body could push and recover, and my mind could rest. Three great, customizable, nutritious meals a day and the cleanest room I’ve ever had (thank you, Ledricka). To my primary PT Angie and OT Dylan—I’ll forever be grateful. Your skill, encouragement, insights, and just the right amount of push felt inspired. Every therapist met me where I was in my recovery and helped me level up to the next stage. My case workers Drew and Sarah were always there when I needed them. Dr. Patel listened and talked with me about preventing a second stroke. Dr. Dixon-Martin seemed to have her finger on the pulse of every patient’s health, progress, and well-being. Every nurse and tech I encountered—Paula, Shakia, Chris, Kristin, Lashawn, and so many more—showed genuine care and positivity. Santana and Tiffany were always smiling and checking in on me. Group therapy each day was purposeful, instructive, and fun (I’ll never forget balloon volleyball with Natalie and Farrah). It gave me much-needed social interaction and helped me appreciate the unique struggles of every patient. I made wonderful friends. Every staff member, regardless of role, was invested in our success. That was clear on my last day in group therapy when a super fun, multi-faceted set of activities was planned. Extra support staff—some whose responsibilities didn’t even include group therapy—voluntarily came in to assist. That moment of everyone coming together to support us and create impactful outcomes summarized my entire Encompass experience. The rehab hospital of Athens was such an.awesome experience!!! I came in thinking that I would never walk correctly. But the staff worked with me to show me things to strengthen my legs and.arms so I could take that first dreaded step. But with the help of the staff there i eased in to it and took those step. From there it was just hard work and Iencouragement from the staff. Shout out to Paula, Angela, Natalie, an⅙d Michelle you are the best!!! If you have to go to rehab and you have a choice where to go you would.be very happy with the staff and doctors at the Rehab Center of Athens.
