Dr. Setia is my son's pediatrician, and was the pediatrician for my step-kids who are now adults. It was never a question in my husband's mind who we would chose for our baby when he was born a year ago. We have never had a bad experience with anyone who works there. When my oldest step-daughter was little, she was having GI problems and other doctors my husband was taking her to wanted to do a bunch of invasive procedures and tests. When they brought her to Dr. Setia he diagnosed her with a milk protein allergy and she didn't have anymore problems after that. I think Dr. Setia's over 20 years of experience makes him one of the best pediatricians in Athens. We trust him completely with every aspect of our son's development and growth.

Doctor Setia is very thorough in the service he provides and is very knowledgeable and answers all questions you may have which is much appreciated when seeing after little ones! He was my doctor before I had my own child. He is awesome at what he does. However his current front office team is EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. They are very unpleasant and are not enjoyable to be around in a facility that deals with children. We deal with enough when we come in with children who are unwell at the time of visit. The least you can ask for is empathy and compassion amongst arrival. Their greetings are barely a greeting at all. They roll their eyes, make ugly faces, smart comments and are not friendly at all. They need to be trained all over again. Customer service/etiquette 101. Regardless, to how you may feel about a parent who calls often to set up appointments as a new first time mom..THIS IS YOUR JOB. It is sad because you can not even get to the GREAT DOCTOR that is there because the team before you get to him is ridiculous. They do not care how they treat you nor your child when they enter your room and they are not empathetic towards the feelings your child may be feeling before or after a visit or shot. When working with small children and families who come in to seek care for their children they should not feel uncomfortable or as if their child is not in good hands. The team as a whole needs to be revamped. You should never wear your emotions on your sleeve when you are in the workplace. And if you do not like the job that you have placed/assigned to do find one that suits you best!!

When I was a new Mom, I have to confess, there were times that Dr Setia would ask me for a lot of details and ask a lot of questions and I was an insecure new Mom and I was somewhat intimidated. I am so glad that I didnt let that feeling interfere with having him as a pediatrician. Every visit (my daughter is 17 now) from new born to now, I KNOW Dr Setia has one concern and one concern only and that is the health and happiness of his young patients. The attention to details and the time he has spent addressing issues that have come up in 17 years has meant that when we did have a problem he carefully and calmly got ALL the information and made very thoughtful decisions about her care. He has been a great Doctor. If you are looking for an office that will find a spot for your child when you need one right away and a Dr who will take your child's health as seriously as you do: you can do no better than Dr Setia and his wonderful office staff.

Dr. Setia is amazing and I'm so glad we did our research and picked him when I was pregnant. When my daughter was first born, there were some health scares. Dr. Setia presented the facts in a caring way without scaring us like the doctor at the hospital did. Dr. Setia also called us directly to explain what was going on and checked in on my daughter without delegating his office staff to do so. He is very knowledgeable, and I'm glad he's in charge if my daughter's care!

Dr. Setia has been my twins pediatrician for a long time. He has been wonderful to us. When the twins came in prematurely, he gave us advice oh how to take cake of them to avoid getting them sick , He has a vast experience working with American families and families from other cultures. Great pediatrician!

Dr. Setia was my sons' doctor for 18 years and I cried when both boys turned 18 and had to seek a doctor to treat them as adults. Dr. Setia is such a wonderful, compassionate, and through pediatrician. He researched problems thoroughly at times to help us understand the illness or symptoms and never once did he mind listening to a mom ask a million questions. I would highly recommend his practice to anyone.

Dr. Setia and his staff are THE BEST!! He has cared for all 3 of my children since birth and I can't say enough great things about him and his entire staff. He is incredibly knowledgable and truly cares for the well being of my children. His staff has always been so helpful and a delight to work with. I highly recommend them all!

We chose Dr.Setia to be our baby's pediatrician and for the most part were very happy with him - laid back, professional and a wonderful person. However, some of the people on the front desk were not very friendly and slightly incompetent. There was this lady that had a frown on her face all 4 times I went there. They constantly needed to be reminded that our health care provider doesn't cover "well baby care" and so on. The software they're using, if any, is probably obsolete by now. Last, but not least, when we were shopping for a pediatrician, cost was important to us, so we asked very specific questions to all the doctors we saw. Like: "How many visits there are typically during the first month? How much per visit? How about the hospital stay". We were told that Dr. Setia will see the baby a total of 2 times and the fee is $60 a piece. It was never mentioned that for the 4 days we were at the hospital, we will accumulate a separate bill of $285. We'd probably be fine with it, but we were never told this. When I called later to inquire about it, the billing person told me it was "understood" that there would be charges at the hospital and that she really wasn't the one who forgot to mention them to us, so... In summary, great pediatrician, but they need to change the way they do business, because it's less than stellar.

Dr. Setia was all three of my children's childhood Pediatric drWe moved away some time ago and now live in ky but he was an absolute lifeline when it came to my youngest son who was born w a very rare genetic disorder. Without his excellent medical care and continued advice im not sure where gavin would be. Now he is a very healthy thriving 19 year old. I'm forever eternally grateful to him and his knowable staff

I am a single Mom with 6 children. My youngest is 6 and my oldest is 26. Dr. Setia has been there for all of them. I have NEVER known a more compassionate, caring and thorough physician. Not just Pediatrician, but Physician. For 26 years I have been through a lot with Dr. Setia, from child birth, to black widow spider bites, and on to the severity of seizure and more. He has NEVER mis-diagnosed. He assesses, diagnoses and explains exactly what is going on, why it is happening and the best treatment. I look forward to his comforting and calming smile and demeanor and I will forever be grateful for his commitments and dedication to our children. When I win the lottery, I will immediately donate to Athens Area Pediatrics!
