Knowledgeable caring doctors and staff. I'm just getting started on dealing with a condition but I have great confidence in Dr. Hedrick and the staff. Couldn't be happier. btw - before the first visit to a doctor's office I always check with my insurance to see if the doc is in network and what sort of coverage I have. And when I called to make my first appointment the staff explained in great detail the billing policy and that I could expect a facility charge.

If you need a rheum to monitor medication that you know works and is in town, then you're in luck, but if you're still getting diagnosed, I'd look elsewhere. This is the only Piedmont doctor's office, I cannot send messages to through MyChart for some reason so every issue requires phone calls. I've seen Dr. Hedrick for almost 2 years and while he is thorough with his lab work, he doesn't have a great bedside manner. I've requested to have appointments sooner for transient symptoms I wanted documented. I sent a pic to my PCP who recommended having my rheum see me a week sooner. He wouldn't move the appointment because he "wasn't worried about it" and my symptoms were gone by the time I saw him. He kinda treats anything outside of expected normal progression of disease as none of his business. For someone who works with people who have complex issues, he doesn't treat his job like he's part of a healthcare team. Support staff is great, and I've never seen his colleague in the office, but I can't in good conscience recommend this office to someone who needs their physician to have the same curiosity and concern about their health as they might for their own.

I also was charged as an out patient plus a Dr visit. Copay should have been $10 but due to extra charges I end up paying/ owing $150. More. I will not go back and suggest you check your insurance for these false charges.

I am uncertain of the billing practices simply because my husband has yet to pay a copay of any sort. I am giving 5 stars because Dr. Hedrick got my husband walking again. My husband could barely walk, get up on his own from a chair or the bed. Dr. Hedrick met with my husband and listened to his symptoms. He gave him samples of medication to try (my husband is allergic to a lot of things) until he hit on the right treatment for my husband. From personal experience, we like Dr. Hedrick and his staff very much. I would highly recommend to anyone with arthritis.

Giving 2 stars because the stauff was nice. I drove 45 minutes to my appointment to find a more saying there would be two different charges because they are out patient service. I call my insurance and the person said it would be over 800 for this visit. My specialty is 60. My deductible is 450. Plus an hour drive there and back. I had two people call to confirm my appointment, no one said a thing. Outrageous. I cannot speak to the Dr or the quality of care. But 800 for something that should cost 60 is not okay.

Don't go here if you are on Obama care. It's treated as outpatient service and you get bill from hospital and doctor. My specialist visit was supposed to be a $60 copay. I ended paying out of pocket over $800 because their billing codes. Though the staff is great their billing method certainly doesn't care care for the patient. I will not go here again

New practice, and frankly not ready or prepared to be open. To anyone interested in seeing this practice, it is set up as a hospital outpatient facility as a money grab from Piedmont. This will not be explained to you. I’m told “there is a sign on the wall in the office.” You will have to pay a hospital facility fee. No other specialists I see bill this way. Piedmont is becoming a money hungry monster.
