Lights on, doors locked at 7 PM on a Thursday. ModernAge used to be my favorite smoke shop in town, but the last few times I’ve dropped by the store has been unexpectedly closed or I’ve had unhelpful experiences. Shame.

Lame. Stopped here about 8 last night, open signs are on, sign on door says they don't close until 11. Door is locked. Some guy in a skeleton T-shirt gives me a vacant look and looks away as if I were not there. Won't go there again. Modern Age used to be about the only game in town....thankfully not the case any more.

This place has a great selection of glassware, vapes, etc. I visit the store about once every three months. I have spent hundreds of dollars here. Then, why one star? I have constantly been discriminated and harassed by the employees. I've been followed and watched. I've been made to feel unwelcome. As if I stumbled into the wrong place. I've encountered passive aggressive comments and gestures. Its about 90% of the time, by different employees. After my last visit which actually had me leaving the store regretting that I gave them my money. I decided to write my first online review, just as a warning to others. If you're a person of color, find a better option.

My experience wasn't as bad as some, but the owner did flat out tell me "no one" wants that when I asked about a product, which would have been fine if worded more thoughtfully. He was just flat out rude when I asked about another product I considered a standard tobacco. The staff was acceptable to above average both times I visited.

The selection of juice at this store is bisimal compared to many others in the area and they have a no exceptions no return policy that is outrageous. I requested coils for my pod while handing them the pod and mod and they sold me coils that would not work for my set up and would not return or exchange them. Even though it was their mess up, they told me tough luck. I left them with the unusable product and went to Greenlight Cape and got all I needed and had an amazing variety.

Shopped yesterday and enjoyed my experience, had short conversation the woman behind the counter was polite and helpful, and i was quickly assisted and out the door within about 5 to 7 minutes. The sea of one stars from people not aware that certain words/topics are not used in stores and that undercover work is a real issue for store owners are expressing the annoying "you're not my real dad and i can do whatever i want whenever i want" that is all too common in modern society. Great shop and since i forgot to pick up filters for my smokes i'll certainly be back (the shop smells quite pleasant, as tobacco stores often do). If you show up and behave like an adult i would assume you'd have the same enjoyable experience that I had.

Why can't I give this place 0 stars? The customer service I received was terrible. The "sales person" literally cut me off after I was trying to explain to him what exactly I was looking for and what I needed. He told me he really didn't need to hear "all of that"! RUDE RUDE RUDE! As I was walking out the store, the guy behind the counter began to laugh. I felt that I was discriminated against just like the other young adults (and AA people) said in their comments. I thought the whole part of customer service was to service the customer. Just know I will NEVER be back and I WILL spread the word! Besides, if I had to sell e-ciggs all day for minimum wage I would probably be mad too. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!

The staff at this location are extremely helpful and friendly. I'm able to run in grab new cartridges for my Novo 2 and juice quickly. They also have a selection of tobacco that other locations simply don't carry. Keep up the good work!
