Today I came in to the MedLink in Athens with my daughter… Im very disappointed in how i was greeted this morning. When i came to the window neither of the girls said Hello or Welcome. The girl with the braids said “was your name”.. Iam a previous employee of the Medlink in Winder. This was my first time coming in with my daughter to this location. My daughter has been a patient of MedLink Winder for almost 4 years. Never did i experience this in Winder.. This was the worst experience i have had coming into a MedLink. I will no longer bring my child to Athens. We will just continue to go to MedLink in Winder.

I always have the best experience with the Athens location. Philip is the best. He listens to everything you say and responds accordingly. The front desk, check out, and MAs are always polite and professional as well! It’s a very welcoming environment!

I checked in and didn't wait long. Didn't wait long in the room for the doc neither. Dr. Kong understood I'm not much for visiting doctors. He looked at my eye, gave me a prescription, went over a few other things due to my age and got me on my way.

Dr. George was so amazing!! I’ve felt so bad all day, and he immediately lights the room up when he walks in! He was so kind, attentive, and informative! He is a very good doctor! Also the rest of the staff were very kind as well :) One more amazing thing, they fit me AND my boyfriend in last minute, we love getting same day appointments!!

The lady on the phone was very rude to me. I made an appointment for one if my kids and she wanted medical records. I just wanted to.go for immunizations that's all. That's why I don't go to doctors bc some people working there are very rude. The school recommended me to go there. I will not go here for any services.

I'm an autistic adult who visited the doctor to get my prescriptions refilled. The waiting room is extremely uncomfortable and is the antithesis of an accommodating lobby. Tile floors in an octagonal room with little furniture meaning every sound is magnified 100x. Even with headphones designed to block out the sounds of metal concerts, I could hear everything at an excruciating level. The lights are overly bright with no covering so anyone with light sensitivity would be highly uncomfortable. I met with doctor George stelin. He began this first appointment not with a greeting, but with a joke about how i was the last patient of the day which could be good or "very bad". From the moment i disclosed that i was autistic i felt unheard and dismissed. Dr. George wasn't interested in hearing me out to learn the best way to treat me, he wanted to do what he thought was best with as little input from me as possible. He gave me long spiels and interrupted when I tried to explain my perspective and why his ableist spiel about anxiety being a bucket filling doesn't apply to autistic people. When I tried to confirm that he wasn't going to prescribe me the medication, he got angry and stated he had been transparent about not prescribing the medicine "with no bullshit". To cap it off i was supposed to get a referral to a psychiatrist, the only good that he would have done that day, but i never got that referral. Dr George made me feel a way that I haven't felt since high school over a decade ago. That because of my disability i am less of a person. I would not recommend this doctor or practice not because he refused to prescribe me the medication, but because he made me feel uncared for and unwanted.
