Jennifer was my massage therapist at her previous place of employment and I thought so much of her that I followed her as she set up her own practice. Jen is very accomplished at massage therapy and has been able to provide substantial relief for all of my trouble spots, so that I leave each session fully refreshed. She is a good business person as well, and runs her practice very professionally, with rules firmly set and followed. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking massage therapy.

I started going to Mahalo because I was dealing with chronic muscle pain that had lasted for almost 6 months at the time. I noticed, immediately, that Jennifer approached her work far differently than I had experienced with other massage therapists in the area. Instead of having a basic routine or stock techniques that are repeated each visit, she took the time to understand my concerns and develop an individualized plan to address the specific issues that I was experiencing. Put succinctly, no massage has been exactly the same as the one prior. Most helpful, however, was the care she took to explain her approach to my problems and what I could do to strengthen and stretch specific muscle groups in order to hasten the push toward being pain-free. Jennifer is super intelligent, uncommonly kind, and entirely unpretentious about her craft. I strongly recommend her practice because she is the kind of professional who sets the standard of care that other businesses and massage therapists should seek to imitate. Lastly, I want to note the precautions that Jennifer takes to ensure that she exceeds expectations when it comes to ensuring her clients that they are not putting themselves at risk by seeking her care during the ongoing pandemic. I'm sure most who are reading this are just as fatigued as I am with the ever-expanding list of cautionary measures that we are being asked to take and told to follow. What is unique about visiting Mahalo is that Jennifer doesn't just shift the burden of maintaining a safe environment onto you but demonstrates by example how we keep each other safe when, together, we actively choose to take on the responsibility to exceed basic standards of health and safety. She is thorough and consistent in utilizing screening methods by taking temperatures, asking clients to self-evaluate possible signs of illness, and using protective equipment such as gloves, face masks, hand sanitizer, and even hepa air filtration (not to mention all the unseen work of wiping down surfaces, providing clean linens for each patient, and observing precautions to maintain and evaluate her own health). If you are at all concerned about the risks of massage during the pandemic, I highly recommend seeking care at Mahalo because Jennifer will quickly alleviate those fears with her attention to detail and facilitation of an environment dedicated to safety.

I’m very new to Athens and have moved into an office space inside of the old Cantrell Grocery. I met Jennifer and had already decided I wanted to try her out. Hands down, one of the best massages I’ve ever gotten. She had perfect pressure and really concentrated on the spots that were giving me problems, while also giving equal attention to my whole person. I highly recommend her. Her covid safety is wonderful. I felt very safe and respected during our visit.

Jennifer is a very talented massage therapist with techniques that I think are especially good for athletes and people with pain issues. She has helped me tremendously with chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain from poor body mechanics and repetitive motion injury. As a midwife and bodyworker myself, I have referred many others her way, and they all sing her praises. I love how she is skilled in working with all age groups and is able to understand and modify for acute and chronic injuries. Jennifer provides a variety of massages to suit specific needs. The location is safe and easy to get to from anyplace I’m Athens. The studio is soft and relaxing with a “rustic modern feel”. Im my 40’s and a big guy, my wife is small. She was able to find the perfect pressure for us both. We went separate days while visiting Athens. I recommend scheduling a few days in advance, you may get lucky and catch her with an opening. By far one of the best massages I’ve ever had
