Level Up Games is an amazing local shop with a fantastic selection of video games, tabletop games, and collectibles. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is welcoming for gamers of all levels. They also host awesome events and tournaments. Easily my go-to spot for anything gaming! And the new management has been doing a killer job.

Great selection of games and a fantastic local business! The staff was super kind and helped me out with all my questions. New management in particular has really leveled up (pardon my pun but also don't:-))) the store even more-- not sure why there has been a sudden influx in negative comments when my experience was so positive. Would highly recommend!

I actually like this store and attend Pokemon events here, but the release of the Final Fantasy Magic the Gathering set has really soured my opinion on this group of stores. I had my group of friends wait for Level Up's preorders to go up so we could attend it here since I enjoyed the atmosphere. But $75 for a prerelease kit of Final Fantasy, and apparently $70 for a single FF Collector Booster is egregious. I'm confused how a chain of four stores can't at least match the prices of Dragonstar where prerelease was $49.99 and the collector boosters were $40. I'll continue to attend Pokemon events, but I now know to go elsewhere if I ever need anything Magic related.

Huge selection of games that made me a little overwhelmed at first, but the staff was so friendly and helped me pick out a game that suited what I was looking for! Reading the other reviews I do find it odd that all the negative reviewers use the same language, and talk about scalping. However, most prices are set by a corporate entity and have nothing to do with the local employees. With games getting more expensive in general, it’s nice to still be able support a local business that also puts on events for our local community :)

This used to be my favorite game store. Used to. Every kind and helpful staff member has been fired and replaced by someone who has no desire to form any proper customer relations with the store community. The management team fumbles around changing things willy nilly with little to no explanation and has no problem screwing over the customers that come into the shop weekly. The prices are now outrageously high a kin to that of an ebay reseller instead of a game store. The owners do not care about their customers; they care about their customer’s wallets. There are better options in Athens.

Pricing of the pre-release for the newest MTG set here is ridiculous. The pricing is bordering on that of eBay scalpers. Their primary competition here in town is offering the same event for $30 less and with proper prize support as well. I've enjoyed the pre-release events I've done here in the past, but I am not going to pay these kinds of prices when there are other game stores here in town that are not gouging their customers.
