Dr. Dong did a wonderful job replacing both lenses due to cataracts in both eyes. I still have 2020 vision after about 4 years. I am ashamed that it has taken me so long to write a review due to moving north and getting settled. Dr. Jong is a wonderful doctor and his nursing staff is very caring and knowledgeable. My Ophthalmologist here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa was extremely impressed with Dr. Jong's work. He said both lenses were perfectly placed. I was very fortunate to have found Dr. Dong!

My experience with Dr Dong was great. No pain. He talked to me during the surgery and comforted me during the procedure by telling me that I was doing well. I felt well taken care of by the hospital staff. It did not take him long to correct my eye. I have to have the other eye corrected. I only want him to do the surgery. Because so far I am doing well. Surgery was at the Milledgeville, Georgia Hospital...... Atrium. S White

I had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Dong a few years back, and the experience was exceptional. The results were outstanding, and the care I received was top-notch. Dr. Dong was referred to me by a family member who is also a physician, and I traveled 4 hours to see him. Now that it's time for my left eye to be done, I wouldn't trust anyone else but Dr. Dong. His expertise and professionalism are unmatched. Highly recommend!

As far as Eye doctors he is one of the best in town. The volume of patients is very high and he has to be quick and direct. I have been to others but he is more of what I consider a doctor to be. Their staff is there if you have an emergency. You cant ask for more with optometrist/opthamologist these days they treat almost as many patients as a hospital these days.

Dr Dong at first seemed ok an did cataract surgery on right eye. It's been 4 weeks since surgery an I can't see well out of that eye. His office people are not very nice although the surgery nurses were good. I won't be returning to this Dr.

Facility is fine, if not dated, musty and hard to find. It being inside an ex-plantation building is kind of off putting and pretentious though. Staff seemed nice enough, until it was time to be professional and honest at least. Now the problems. After getting all the tests for my mom's cataracts. Having Medicare and everything else verified. These fools wait until 2 days before her surgery to call my disabled veteran mother and try to squeeze another 600 dollars out of her. DR. Dong himself sat there during his 2 minute long review telling us that "Oh medicare/va, yea she will be all taken care of. The only additional costs will be anesthetic costs since it is an outside company." Well that was a lie, only about 80 bucks was for them, the rest was what Dong wanted. So, we thought everything was good to go.. Cut to 2 days before surgery, after all the planning on our end and back and forth calls. These people decide they wana spring a 600 dollar charge 2 DAYS before she is to get cataract surgery, before they will even see her again. So much for it being "all taken care of". He and they really talked it up too. "It's gonna be so great, you can see before Thanksgiving". That was a lie. How callous and short sighted. We asked about additional costs from the get go, so we could plan for it accordingly. They couldn't even be bothered to be honest up front, even when literally asked. The excuse? The girl on the phone (Sam) said she was too busy to let us know any sooner... She made every excuse under the sun with no apologies given. Inept and uncaring would be the nice way to put it. They couldn't even be bothered to verify that the primary care had even signed off on it yet. Seriously, not even the simplest answers could be given by these people. And so, we get to scramble and figure it out now during the holidays by ourselves. Obviously, we will seek services elsewhere as trust is broken here. I should have trusted my gut. It was obvious they are another place that spends all their money on equipment and facade, but, I just wanted to get my mom's vision fixed. It feels like they tried to take advantage of that. Red flags were all over and I wish I'd have paid better attention. Their tablet system didn't work. 10 people in reception with no clear work being done, just standing behind the desk while one person handled the rush of people. The exam crew putting my mom through the 20 machines they had to use, were cold and said almost nothing the whole time. The young Dr doing first consult couldn't figure out the computer system without some admin sitting in for a tutorial (guy was trying his best, was a nice guy). Then in strolls smooth talking Dr Dong clearly saying whatever would get him in and out of the room in under 3 minutes. They clearly do not actually care. Once you take a step back, it is blatantly obvious that they are built on a quantity over quality system. Get you in and out, while every other area suffers. It makes me question how well they would have done in surgery. I don't think we are eager to find out. Look elsewhere for your treatment, these people just see you as a number. Additional edit with new info: Turns out I was correct; they quoted one eye for 600 and then were very hesitant to give cost for the second eye until after pressed sternly. This whole office feels sketchy as hell in retrospect. Do your homework and shop around. It turns out they are not very highly reviewed or suggested across the community. My fault for not doing all my homework and trusting any of these people.
