Horizon at Tallassee is the best apartment complex in Athens! There’s tons of green space, a hiking trail, and even a car wash station which is super convenient. The amenities are always nice and easy to use, and the whole place just feels comfortable and like home.

I’ve really enjoyed living at the Horizon at Tallassee. The community is gated/quiet and well-maintained overall. The location has been really convenient for me as it is close to all parts of town without being in the downtown area traffic. Also has a biking/hiking trail that goes around the property which has been great. Overall recommend!

Finally writing a way overdue review - I moved out of Horizon over the summer after a year living there for UGA grad school. It was a FANTASTIC experience! My roommates and I loved the apartment both inside and out, and thoroughly enjoyed our time as residents. Unfortunately, I had to relocate out of Athens for my final year - or else I absolutely would have re-signed my lease here for another year. Heather and the rest of the office staff were great at communicating with us, from move-in to move-out and everything in between. I highly recommend this apartment if you are looking for a quiet but quality place to live in the Athens area.

Great experience living here! Apartments feel much more spacious compared to others with an updated modern feel. The amenities are awesome as well, and are spaced out around the property with great green space! My whole experience here has been welcoming and love the community overall.

I moved to Horizon at Tallassee earlier this year and I couldn’t be happier! The community is friendly, great amenities, and as a dog owner - the grounds seem to stay very well maintained and the dog parks are great. The units are so spacious and the closets are a great size if that is something important to you. The management has also been very responsive and helpful which makes a huge difference. It has been a great place to call home overall!!

Fulfilled my lease and received NO Deposit back. As my movers were loading my unit up at the end of my fulfilled lease a resident from another building was screaming at the lawn care crew threatening to call ICE. I can’t stress enough to stay away from this management! They will lie straight to your face! I have had the trauma of dealing with a neighbor passing away here with me being the only person that was reaching out to her family, along with racist neighbors, security officers who are there to get their next person in bed instead of caring for the well being of the community. What a year it has been living here! Construction has been going since the day I moved in til the day my lease ended (12 months and 9 days). This complex is right beside a chicken feed mill so yes you can smell it. The website states a gated community-the gates are up now but open all day long. You will hear your neighbors from all floor levels and the one’s beside you. In your lease it states dogs need to be leashed at all times on the grounds but not enforced. If the mail lady sees a dog in her vicinity she will not get out of her truck due to dogs not being on a leash. Apartments are beautiful to view but you will see the poor construction once moving in. It seems like every day you hear lawn work being done making remote meetings from your apartment difficult. OSHA should be contacted regarding the construction violations that happen on this construction site. No hard hats, no safety harnesses when performing work that requires these safety devices. Courtesy officers that I have encountered are useless. My neighbor passed away in her apartment, (above my unit) I reached out to the officer that lived next door to her apartment and relayed my concern about my neighbor only to find out he had no interest in performing his work as law enforcement but was more interested in “smash and dash” with her. Needless to say at one point I had to call in a welfare check on her - only to be found deceased in her bathroom. The office manager went thru her apartment and phone. Don’t trust the management at all. Package deliveries is a whole topic on its own! I have had four packages from Nordstrom end up missing or at someone else’s building. I have had a neighbor come knock on my door at night to accuse me of taking packages that were left supposedly at my front door (I never use my front door) I never saw the packages so I was no help but was rudely accused of having the packages because he matched up the concrete from the photo of the delivery company. Management needs to use a Luxer One system to ensure proper delivery of packages, this would prevent neighbors from knocking on doors or going to social media to try and locate their packages. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPLEX AND MANAGEMENT COMPANY!

Highly recommend for seniors or serious students and young professionals. There are some accessible units. We’re totally independent and love that we don’t have to lift a finger in repair! Both 70+ and feel safe. Yes, we don’t have our three drawer quiet dishwasher anymore. All appliances work just fine. We have more square footage than our previous home and lots more counter space. And a big undermount kitchen sink. Some really nice touches and plenty of wall space. We’re in a ground floor 1,131sqft unit w/lease special W/D. There is a great special going on right now. Move in Special: Lease and sign a 13-month lease and receive one-month free rent concession. In addition, on 1,131 sq ft 2-bedroom/2-bathroom apartments, receive a $500 VISA gift card or a full-size Washer and Dryer on a 13-month lease. Move in by Jan 4! Tell ‘em at the office that the ‘Ol crazy cat ladies with bicycles sent you. Cool art installations around property also. Gym, pickleball courts, fire pits w/wood, covered bike storage, garden plots, an amphitheater with occasional acoustic/mildly amped music, pool, car wash area, recycling and garbage dumpsters, dog walk areas, and outdoor, off road walking/mt biking trail.

I cannot recommend Horizon at Tallassee enough. We were the first residents to move in to our apartment a year ago, and Heather at the front office could not have made it easier. If there was ever a maintenance problem (which was extremely rare), it would be addressed by the next business day, if not within a couple of hours. If you have a problem, Heather will solve it. After coming in on two wheels after a long day right before the office closed , I reported a minor problem with my AC unit. She personally called the maintenance man and ensured me it would be fixed before she left the office. Sure enough, he was there within 20 minutes and promptly fixed my problem with professionalism and kindness. If I were staying in Athens, there would be no question I would resign here again. So many memories were made here. The residents are friendly, the site is decorated and maintained impeccably, the unit is large, and it is a joy to host friends at a complex that you can be proud of.

I love living here. The pool and the gym have been some of the best amenities. I like to go early in the morning to gym when no one is there and I feel as if I have my own private studio. Our apartment is great, we love the modern design. We've had the best experience with the maintenance staff, they're in as soon as they can to fix what they can.
