I was so scared to try a new compounding pharmacy when I moved here 2 years ago. I've had other pharmacies not fully understand my allergy, which resulted in several scary reactions. I was very pleasantly surprised with Hawthorne. Not only is the staff highly knowledgeable, they are the kindest people ever! Sometimes it takes a bit to get my meds (I not only need them compounded, I need them shipped, as well), but this is understood in the allergy world. I highly recommend Hawthorne - great, caring people and pretty reasonable prices. And, if you're allergic to CORN, they've got your back!

I have only used this place a few times and had positive experiences. However, this most recent time was extremely disappointing. My doctor called in a prescription that someone else picked up for me. When I received it, I realized it was only partially filled. I called the pharmacy- no explanation was given why it was only partially filled. I told them that I needed the rest of my prescription and would be coming the next day to get it. The woman I was speaking with asked me to call on my way because the medicine had to be made right before I picked it up. I told her the time I would be coming the following day. I rushed straight from work and drove 30 minutes to get there. I called once before I left and 3 times along the way and only got voicemail. After waiting in line, I was told they didn’t have anything for me. I explained the situation and was told they would look into it. I sat down and waited. Finally, after being there for 30 minutes, I was told that they are unable to fill my prescription. By this time, it is closing time on a Friday afternoon. I have no way of getting my prescription and now all other pharmacies are closed as well. Not to mention the fact that they are closed on the weekend and I cannot even get it transferred somewhere else. This is not a medication that could wait over the weekend to get filled. So now I’m out of a needed medication with no way to get it over the weekend as well as wasting almost two hours of my time.
