Was surprised to see fly fishing gear in Athens GA. Store has some neat things for both men and women. A bit pricey but seems good quality.

Back in November I visited Athens, Georgia for the first time for a Riley Green concert. We stayed in Athens for 3 days but we had never heard of an Empire South before. When we walked in, it reminded me of the store, “Southern Charm” that we have back at home in Chattanooga and we felt very welcomed while we were shopping. I’m a huge fan of Over Under brand and Peach State Pride and they had plenty of options to select from at a great price including many other brands. I highly recommend visiting Empire South while in Athens!

Great store as far as their merchandise goes, however, when you walk into a store, and aren't greeted in the fifteen minutes you're in there looking around and trying on jackets, it kinda sours the experience. You'd think they would try harder, especially being the newest store of their kind downtown. There is plenty of competition within walking distance that will actually give you the time of day. Update: we returned a couple months later and the experience was much different and better!
