One of our favorite local stores ever!!!!! Everyone that works here have always been so chill, kind, welcoming, and helpful. They are precious souls! Not only are they awesome, but they keep the atmosphere respectful from/for their clientele where my son and I feel safe and at ease there no matter the time of day we've visited. Their prices are on par with other card stores if not better (but I would choose them over any other anyways because they make being there such a positive experience). They have many opportunities to connect with others with their themed game events. I also appreciate that they put appropriate limits on cards to deter scalpers. DSH is the gold standard for running a small, local business! ☆

After living in Athens for 2 1/2 years Dragonstar hobbies has become my new favorite place to play Magic. The employees are all fun and knowledgeable and have taken the time to get to know me personally. While it took some time, mostly due to poor business practices by others, I find myself wishing I had started my local journey with this store. Joe and his team go above and beyond to take care of their customers!

Best shop in Athens for MTG. They have singles and sell singles and their prices are reasonable on sealed product. Staff is friendly and helpful. I see a lot of Pokémon happening here too. Popular Warhammer/ttrpg spot. Good food near by for those days you plan to be there a couple of hours.

This is a really nice place, been here a while. Been to the rest of the car shops in town, I suppose they just don’t really hold a light to this one. The staff isn’t over bearing or negligent. Even though yugioh is dead as a doorknob, it’s still nice to hang around and play a bit of commander.

Came here on a sunday for the pokemon tcg for my kid and myself. Wow, let me start with saying everyone here is super friendly, even though it was our first time we did not feel out of place. Some people did speak an advanced lingo but still a great experience, one that my child will remember for sure. Now tim who was in charge of the league was very helpful and informative since we are new to it he explained mostly all I needed to know. I also got a chance to meet Joe the owner who was also friendly and inviting. I can guarantee we will be back! Also they do have pokemon raids here for Go! They were pretty stocked with plenty games and fir once I saw they actually carry pokemon cards, they have booster,tins even league decks that you can use in a tournament.

I can't say enough good things about this locally owned small biz! A very cool selection of games and cards. I collect Pokemon, and I love to stop by and see what's in stock and shop singles. The employees are great, and the owner is always a delight to speak to. They also have a lot of gaming events, so there's a reason for just about anyone to stop by and check it out!

They’re extremely warm and welcoming, and have been an integral part of my time in Athens, and have helped me throughout the tough times I’ve been through. Dragon Star Hobbies holds a special place in my heart—I spent the majority of my 20s there and met so many incredible friends along the way! I truly love the Athens gaming community, and if you ever need anything, Joe, the owner, is absolutely your go-to guy. Even though I don’t play Magic as much anymore, Dragon Star Hobbies still feels like my home away from home. The store is filled with great memories and genuinely cares about the Athens gamers. This place deserves an apology from me, I left an extremely excessive review months ago that was purely an emotional reaction to something completely insignificant. To which I spiraled into frustrations about things I honestly just didn't understand. So to the store and staff, you have my sincerest apologies for the negativity and rudeness in that review. I've been back often and I love the place, everyone is wonderful. If you have anxiety, they are really nice I promise. Their prices are solid too despite the rising market, there's tons of boxes and binders to look through along with the cases which is usually filled to the brim. Overall a great store.
