This shop is it for car audio, and these guys are the best at what they do. Recently had a Sony head unit installed in my 2020 ford f150 and I couldn’t be happier. I was preparing for a long drive to NY and miraculously these guys were able to squeeze me in the day before my trip. The install was clean, professional, and finished in less time than originally estimated. These guys went above and beyond to make this install happen prior to my long drive north and I can’t thank them enough. I will definitely do business with these guys in the future. Came to this shop for a Bluetooth-compatible amplifier on my motorcycle. Was told it was no problem. They said they would work up an estimate, "from better to best", and they would email me the estimate. That was 2 wks and a musicless roadtrip ago. No call, no email, no nothin'. Guess they don't need my money. Hope not, cuz they ain't getting it...UPDATE: Miscommunication on my part. Did not see the email sent on 7/8, so I got a little aggravated. They sent it like they said they would AND it's a reasonably priced job at that. My deepest apologies to all at Custom Sound.

I don't write a lot of reviews, and if I did, there would be A LOT of 1 star reviews out there. However, I am taking the time to write this because my experience here has exceeded my expectations. Jeff is one of the most professional people I've ever encountered in this world, not only by his expertise and knowledge, but by his customer service. I bought an amp and had a sub that I owned installed. The sub was not working because of a previous incident and Jeff was able to explain what the issues might be and offered me a satisfactory replacement. The work was very well done, very neat, I haven't noticed any scratch marks. It shows the care and pride Jeff and Custom Sounds take in their job. It doesn't end there. About 3 weeks out, the sub completely died on me. Shit happens. I take it back and without hesitation Jeff replaces it. No questions asked. It wasn't known why it went out, but in order to avoid any future "what ifs," Jeff gave me a completely new sub. That is why I'm recommending anyone that is shopping around, go to Custom Sounds.

Spencer did an awesome job helping me with a new stereo in my Rubicon. I walked in not really knowing what I wanted but his patience and passion for what he does gave me a lot of confidence. The stereo i originally wanted was going to sit deep in the dash, which I had no idea. After he showed me what it was going to look like I knew I’d hate it. He then took the time to show me several different stereo options and explained the difference between all of them. I have 8 different buttons on the back of my steering wheel and 12 more on the front of it. He went through every button with me and told me what my option were for each button 👍. The install was done in less than 2 hours. Very polite and profession young man. Thank You Spencer!

Love these guys. Ben installed my sound system in both my 300z and my 350z and did an excellent job on both. He was both friendly and knowledgeable and got the job done in a more than acceptable amount of time. I recommend them to others and will use them again myself in the future

This is a business? Um.. well there is a gross negligence on their values system. What good is a business whom provides a service to the public (their primary customer base) and doesn't maintain integrity? I am extremely disappointed. I wanted a simple service. One they specialize in, or rather are certified to perform. I even spoke to an associate over the phone, before I arrived, was told they would take care of my request.... and absolutely did nothing for me.

Definitely thought I was gonna be leaving a 5 star review… but I was shockingly disappointed. I had some issues from a different audio shop, and Jeff (the head tech) was quickly able to identify some of the issues I was dealing with… he did get me an improved DSP installed that fixed some of the problems; however, now my audio system has a number of buzzing and ringing noises which Jeff was unable to fix and I didn’t notice them until after I had already paid for the work so there was less incentive for him to finish the work. Shame on me for not knowing to test drive my vehicle even if it was just electronic work I was having done. Jeff and the guys at this shop do not know as much about factory integration as they claim, and I definitely gave him too much credit on that part. I am now having to have a third shop fix these issues outside of town who know factory integration and wiring installation/connection/grounding better than the guys do here. Anything past regular speaker and sub installation, I would not recommend anyone else to have work done here. Anything with a DSP and keeping your factory head unit requires more expert installation. Do not take your vehicle here to have anything complicated done. I can vouch that the work that was done here was less than satisfactory. I remember reading a review from about a year ago where this guy needed his system tuned, and this shop insisted on installing a new DSP for about $500. They also damaged his vehicle because they didn’t put the parking break on when parking (the car was a manual). Fortunately Jeff and his guys didn’t really damage my vehicle too bad but I definitely noted it and again it’s my fault that I did not take pictures of these specific components before hand, but Jeff definitely did a number on my dash bezel when removing it and what used to be a brand new piece of trim is now scratch to hell. He also broke some of the clips on that piece so it no longer goes back in flush as it should. Additionally, in the trunk where he had installed some mounting brackets on the sub box, it was pretty sloppy, and I can see where he had attempted to mount the brackets, where he had lost control of the power tool he was using because there’s definitely scrapes and scratches that should not be there. Otherwise it should have been a clean and precise hole for bracket. So case in point, similar to the other guy and his review, that’s two occasions I can speak on now where these guys do not treat your vehicle with as much care as you will yourself. Also, Jeff likes to get drunk when he’s on the job working on your vehicle. I know that’s a personal blow, but I consider it a personal blow when somebody does not complete the job to standard that I’ve paid good money for, especially when I was charged an extra $200 which I didn’t complain about because I told Jeff from the beginning: I just want the job done right. With that being said, I’m not the happiest with the work I had done here, not when I paid somebody to neglect my vehicle and lie to my face about being a professional. If you’ve made it this far, just don’t take your vehicle here if it’s nice, because they’ll make sure it’s a little less nice than it was to start with. Note: You won’t see the shop respond to this review, because the work that was done was pretty embarrassing. And if they do respond, I’ve got loads of pictures and receipts from the 3 separate visits I had to make for this job that I would love to share.

So these guys fixed our speaker.. And it's not even in a car.... Let me explain.... We have a mobile DJ operation & one of our subwoofers malfunctioned... The closest shop outside of Athens that caters to pro audio equipment was like an hour away & it was $100 to walk in the door TOUCH the subwoofer..... so my business partner took a chance & called these guys over at Custom Sounds of Athens to just ASK if they would take a look at it.... To our surprise they said sure bring it over. My business partner brought it over, they popped the sub open, & was able to fix the problem In <1 hour, now the speaker is back up and running .... Absolutely can't thank these guys enough forgiving us the time of day. They absolutely went above & beyond when they absolutely could have just told us to 'kick rocks'. When the time comes for me to upgrade my audio in my car... There's no question of where I'm going. Highly recommend 👍🏾
