Community is a cool little local shop with a great alterations department! I usually hem my own stuff but I have a dress that needed more expertise and equipment than I had. They did an excellent job and for a very reasonable price. And the shop has clothes and great gift ideas, too!

Community is a little gem in Athens. I have used their alternation department several times. They are so friendly, yet professional. They are always upfront with you, and their workmanship is beautiful!

Anything I buy at Community becomes the absolute favorite I own and use regularly. The selection at Community is curated and exclusive, so I can always count on finding something one of a kind. For example, I bought a stunning bag here, created by a local brand Marlene, that was designed and made from up-cycled material. The bar for what I keep in my closet has been raised much higher ever since. I’ve gotten rid of many other bags because my Marlene is so stylish and versatile, I hardly use much else anymore. I value being environmentally conscious when I shop, and Community does this in strides: they sell timeless designs not based on fast trends, they sell and create with natural fabric, they sell products made by local artists, they upscale the design and durability of secondhand clothes, and they provide services to alter and maintain clothes we already own and love. Usually I shop at affordable thrift stores, but it has been worth far more to save and buy a few things at Community than to buy higher quantity of subpar quality elsewhere. Community has inspired me to further discover my personal style and elevate my palette for quality clothing, accessories, and even pieces for my home. I never regret money spent here.

I had been holding on to some jumpers that needed a new hem (short girl here) but finally made an appointment with Tiffany at Community. The work only took a week. I was literally giggling in the dressing room as I tried on the clothes that I could finally wear! Excellent work and wonderful service.

I brought in a bridesmaid dress for simple alterations (a hem and taking the straps in) and highly recommend! The process was simple, straightforward, and the turnaround time was pretty fast (1 week)!

The best in the business. They were very timely and professional in how they conducted the experience. I had some pants hemmed and they were awesome for gameday!

Just picked up a pair of pants that were tailored at Community. Such a beautiful shop, great vibe and super nice folks and owner. And of course the pants fit perfectly. ❤️

#Chalises Heavenly Inspired joined with #Community Athens for the Shop Small Crawl this past Sunday. The event was great and well attended. The WOA Women Of Athens did a fantastic job putting it together. Thanks to them and Athens for supporting the Shop Small Crawl 2023

*This review is for the alterations part of Community, not the store itself.* I am really disappointed with the services I received. I took a formal dress to Community 2 weeks before I needed it back (which is exactly the time required per the website for formal dresses). The seamstress seemed excited to help and I felt like my dress was in good hands. I received a text almost a week later saying that my seamstress was out sick and asked what I needed done with the dress. I came back for a second fitting where the seamstress didn’t know my name, what I was there for, and did not know the status of the dress. When she found the dress, nothing was done except taking the cups out, despite the second fitting being over a week after the dress was dropped off. I paid up front and the seamstress said I could have to pay more for a rush fee, even though I dropped it off in the required time. She also said that she was unequipped to do the alterations I needed to fix the area that was too big. She said I would need to follow up with another seamstress later in the week, but she could not guarantee it would be done. I am very upset with the results, as the extra fabric in the top is not fixed. The seamstress kept telling me it looked fine and to just take it home. I will be taking it to another place. I was unimpressed with their lack of professionalism, problem-solving, and pricing. Payments should be done at the end of the service instead of the beginning, in the event of an extra charge.
