I called Car Craft to get a quote for a repair. They weren’t sure if they had the right tools to do the job, so they asked me to bring the car in. I scheduled an appointment and brought the car to them. As I was about to hand over the keys, I was told there would be a $189 diagnostic fee, which was not told to me over the phone. I reluctantly decided to continue since I was already there. Later that day, they called me with a quote that was $600-700 higher than other shops in the area. I was told they quoted higher because they weren’t sure if other parts had to come off to do the repair. I asked if they could price match and was told yes, but if other parts had to come off they would still charge the original amount. That didn’t seem like much of a price match to me. I took my car to another shop and there was no drama. They quoted me a reasonable price over the phone, no diagnostics needed. And they knew exactly what needed to be done to perform the repair. They actually replaced more components and were about $700 cheaper than Car Craft. I will say that the staff at Car Craft was super friendly. They even arranged shuttling me to and from work during the diagnostics, which I appreciated. I just wish they would’ve been more straightforward with pricing. They also ended up only charging me $140 for diagnostics.

Fast, direct, and straight forward from start to finish and very proactive with contacting warranty company, time line, what to expect and very pleasant and professional to deal with. Nice place and nice people. They treat you as you would want them to treat you. Some of their services here are notably more expensive for similar quality of work that can be found at other local mechanic shops. Charging over $40 in labor to replace a cabin air filter is expensive. Other places will only charge you for the filter as it is such a quick job. They will give you a pretty thorough courtesy though. I am not too confident with the mechanics' diagnostics skills because i have had a couple things that were clearly misdiagnosed and should have been spotted in a visual inspection or deduced through a test drive but nonrtheless i chose to follow through with a couple repair jobs where the components continue to be in good working order. Really nice people and the customer service is definitely 5 stars and for that reason i rated as such. If you don't mind paying a little more and are looking for a local mechanic then i think they are a good option for your mechanical service needs.
