Great customer service! Our flight was cancelled and we needed to extend our rental - corporate was unable to do it over the phone since Atlanta budget is a privately owned franchise. They sent us to the athens location to get our rental extended. The women at the front desk was friendly, super fast, and had us back out of buoying our sunday in no time. Thank you to athens Budget!

This is the absolute best place for a rental. I use this particular Budget/Avis for both my personal and business rentals. Don’t let some of the negative reviews deter you from an amazing rental experience. I’ve been in the rental office numerous times when people were unhappy. It’s usually their fault, not the store owners fault. If you demand a specific color vehicle and they don’t have it, that’s not their fault, that’s the renters fault for being unrealistic. If you rent a vehicle and don’t expect there to be a deposit, taxes, etc. then that’s your fault, not the store owners. You get the picture. Honestly, this place works super hard to ensure you are accommodated and have a pleasant experience. Prices are fair, vehicles are always in good condition and very clean. Lynn, the store owner is very knowledgeable, very helpful and goes above and beyond. Like I said, I use this location for both personal rentals and business rentals for my company PF Services. Best place in Athens for a vehicle rental, and moving truck rental.

Horrible customer service. Absolutely no empathy or sympathy for the customer. She was rude and overall had no consideration for the needs of myself or family. I will be calling corporate it’s ridiculous honestly, and I see why this place has low ratings.

Don’t run from this place. There’s a very good chance they will accept your money and not have a car that meets your needs. We tried to rent a seven passenger minivan here because we have a lot of people going on a trip with us. They told us we had to leave and come back in a couple hours because the car is for late arriving. Then when we got there all the seven passenger vans were gone and they only offered us a small five seater SUV and are refusing to give our money back. The woman behind the counter was rude and couldn’t understand how the car we were being offered isn’t comparable to the one we reserved. We would have been much better off reserving a car from Enterprise. But now that’s not an option because nobody has a van available for rent. Avoid this Budget location at all costs.

I will start by this particular location is not responsible for budget/avis not having my passenger van. Lisa and the other lady at the front desk were super nice and helpful, but Avis/budget sucks bad! We reserved a 12 passenger van for our family vacation 6 months ago. We show up today and it’s not there. There were none fleetwide in the state. Lisa was very apologetic and offered us two cars instead at a great rate. This got us on the road headed to Florida, but it didn’t help with the disappointment in telling our kids there would be no family road trip with everyone riding together. This was their only summer vaca request! A road trip together. We will stick to flying! Budget/avis suck! If you need a regular car or minivan, this location I’m sure is just fine. But know a reservation means NOTHING to Avis/budget. You are better off walking in and seeing what they have.

Reserved a minivan on Tuesday for Saturday noon pick up. Arrived Saturday @11:20. "Oh I was just about to call you we dont have that." Ruined a family outing with my adult children. I am sure many of you understand how difficult it is to get an outing like that when your children are up and out of the house.

Staff did not close out my rental right when I returned the keys because they were busy, but it led to me being charged $88 for an additional hour rental. Budget customer service tried to rectify it but it has been a huge headache.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I would love to give ZERO STARS but it won’t let me…. I made an online reservation to be picked up Saturday at 12. I get a phone call from them at 11:56 saying they close at 12 and that my car is ready so if I want to come early to get it I could. Never mentioned that they close at 12. Get there and of course they’re closed. Call to cancel my car bc I needed it that day and was met with a nasty attitude and said that it was my fault and that I was going to have to pay a cancellation fee. I argued that and was told my full refund would be back to me with in 5-7 buisness days. IT HAS BEEN almost a MONTH (21 buisness days) and I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY REFUND!!! I have called atleast 6 times and the only answers I can get is to wait and it should be there soon… I will NEVER use this poor excuse for a company again!!! They need to go out of buisness if this is how you think you should treat customers!

Worst place to rent a vehicle from. Completely unprofessional with the nerve to not expect certain cards even though they are visa or MasterCard. Will never come here again nor recommend to anyone please change the policies and get people who want to do there job.

After making my reservation weeks in advance, I started calling the morning of my reservation (this morning) to confirm that my vehicle was present before I drove from the town over to pick up my car. I called over 20 times throughout the course of the morning and no one answered. Corporate budget instructed me to keep calling until someone picked up. I had my parents drive me there hoping that the car would be there even though I wasn’t able to confirm. When I arrived, they told me that they didn’t have my vehicle. She had no plan or answers on what else to give me. I am currently calling budget myself to see if there is anything that can be done but it looks like I will not be able to complete my journey as all other car centers are already booked for the holidays. It is very confusing that no one would reach out to me to let me know they didn’t have a vehicle for me. I am still on hold.
