5 out of 5 stars for this amazing crew!! We couldn't wait any longer to find out if we were having a boy or girl. So I walked up to the counter, asked if they could make a strawberry shake for girl or a chocolate shake for boy, turned my phone over to them for a minute, and the whole store was happy and willing to help us! They even covered the top of the cup so we wouldnt know until we were ready! Ps. Its a girl!

Have enjoyed your ice cream many times. But drive-thru experience was awful simply because the music playing while ordering was annoyingly loud. Barely able to communicate. Asked if it could be turned down - NO! Seriously, what’s the point? Absolutely play it everywhere else on property, but is it necessary to do it right at drive-thru speaker?

One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in Athens. I went to the drive-thru at Bruster’s and politely asked for a sample spoon, only to be rudely told, “It’s not allowed.” I calmly responded that I wasn’t aware. Instead of a polite explanation, a rude blonde employee came to the window, snapped that it was against health department regulations, and slammed the window shut in my face. The attitude was unnecessary and completely uncalled for. If there truly is a rule, it could’ve been communicated respectfully. But instead, I was treated like I had asked for something outrageous. The arrogance and lack of basic manners from the staff were unbelievable. It felt like they were annoyed to be doing their jobs at all. The owners seriously need to step in and train their employees on customer service and common courtesy. Ice cream places are supposed to be cheerful, family-friendly environments — not places where customers are made to feel embarrassed or unwelcome. Bruster’s Athens, do better. You’ve lost a loyal customer.

I don’t even know where to start with how horrendous Bruster’s in Athens is. If there were an award for worst service and most disgusting environment, this place would win without competition. First, the “service” — if you can call it that — was a complete joke. We stood in line forever while the staff laughed and goofed off behind the counter, clearly more interested in their gossip than in doing their jobs. No greeting, no sense of urgency, and definitely no professionalism. When we finally got our order, it was already melted. Literally dripping over the sides of the cup — like it had been sitting in the sun for 10 minutes. I’ve had better consistency from convenience store freezers. Then comes the cherry on top of this mess: the handwashing sink near the window was completely broken, leaking water all over the floor. I stepped in a puddle and my shoes were soaked. Nasty. Absolutely no signage, no effort to clean it up — just a swamp of dirty water in a food-serving establishment. That’s not just lazy, it’s a public health issue. Not a single apology. Not a single care given by anyone working there. It’s honestly shameful that this place is allowed to operate under the Bruster’s name.

The ice cream was definitely worth the price. The service was great, the scoops came out fast. I think the server I had was named Tyler, and he was very nice too. The place was also very sanitary, as I saw a worker making sure everything around the outdoor space was clean. His name was Noah and he also had a great personality. Amazing atmosphere altogether. Definitely will come here again!
