Dr. Bradley Shepherd is phenomenal. The Lord used him to save my sister’s life when she had an esophageal varices bleed. He has since become my gastro specialist, as well as my daughter’s and another sister’s. Dr. Shepherd is thorough & he’s attentive to my concerns. He takes time to explain. He shows genuine concern for his patients. Staff is always friendly, professional, and very helpful.

This man one of the most arrogant, mid tier (I’m being generous) professionals I have ever seen in my life. He works in a two star hospital and acts like he is next to God. I was dumbfounded by his arrogance and incompetence. He flipped out when I asked clarifying questions about conflicting information I was getting from doctors across the hospital. There was no sense of alignment. He told me I probably had cancer and needed him to do a colonoscopy right away besides no symptoms or history in my family even though surgeon advised against it. I went to another doctor where I was treated with respect, had the procedure and I am perfectly fine. Save yourself for the horrors. I wouldn’t let him treat me for a paper cut.

As of this posting, Dr. Shepherd is affiliated with Northside Hospital Group (I think most of the doctors in this facility are), which is currently in conflict with my insurance carrier, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield – the insurance provider for the University System of Georgia. Unfortunately, from what I have read, the disagreement seems to stem from how much patients are being charged for care. After my first appointment with Dr. Shepherd, I can see why there is a conflict. My 15 minute appointment in which he prescribed me a stronger version of Prilosec cost $500, of which I was responsible for $299 under my insurance plan. I liked Dr. Shepherd – he seemed perfectly nice, but I think that price is severely inflated for the "expertise" provided. In contrast, I saw a cancer specialist recently who charged half of what Dr. Shepherd charges his patients. I'll be trying to find a GI doctor that is more reasonable.

Feb, 2022. My husband had an 11:30 appointment. Sat in the room until 11:55. Dr. Shepherd walks in and says, "I didn't know I had a patient. Do you have an appointment? I was on my way out to lunch." Not our fault his staff is incompetent! Also, he handed my husband a sheet of things to try and walked out. Went to front desk to return the tablet, and was told to leave it on the counter bc she is on her lunch break. The waiting room is open and shared with other doctors. Not a secure spot. RUDE AND UNCARING! Would not recommend him or his staff for anything or to anyone!!

I have been going to Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates for 3 years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else. I see Dr. Shepherd in Watkinsville and the Athens office for colonoscopy and endoscopy. He is very thorough and professional. His staff are very nice, especially Miss Carly.

I always enjoy coming to Dr. Shepherd's office! I have never had a long wait in their office or a long wait once brought into the room! Dr. Shepherd is always polite and thorough and discusses with you what the options are and lets you decide.

Dr Sheppard performed a endoscopy and colonoscopy. My experience after this procedure was done was horrendous. I explained prior to having procedure when signing paper work that I have c.o.p.d and I need to be able to set up afterwards to clear my lungs. My after care was anything but comfort and care . I would expect it to be about my care since I was the one having the procedures and the one paying for it! The nurse tried to keep setting me back and after repeated attempts to explain I need to set up to clear my lungs she became loud and said you have to set back. I became uncomfortable and agitated at this point and told the nurse politely to leave my room . I did not want or need this after having procedure . She refused and said your doing this to yourself. Wow! I raised my voice and said leave my room. After a few moments of the nurse leaving Dr Sheppard came in my room and had the audacity to say your a grown man act like it! This was and is not acceptable to say to anyone. Where is your professionalism. Iam the one in pain I am the patient.! Dr Sheppard was told at that time that it was his nurse who was nasty and he replied she is not!. I said she may not have been to you but she certainly has been to me . You where not the one sitting in here being badgered . Noone stopped to even ask me what happened only made assumptions that it was all me. Noone should ever have to pay for something and trust your care to only be left with a bill and regret. I begged for my wife and they refused to let her come be my advocate. They never even reach out to my wife to let her know. She was clueless to my pain and struggle they were putting me through. It had been a hour at this point she had been sitting waiting after procedure. After They told her they would keep her posted if anything changed during recovery. It took me txting my wife and explaining to her what was happening and her going to the front desk and complaining to finally let her back. Horrible staff . If you dont want to actually take care of people and give them the care and dignity they deserve pick a different profession!

.Very disappointed with his attitude towards me. He was very heartless and very rude. He wouldn't listen to me. He had already formed an opinion about me and my problem. I always get judged. Assume without knowing me. Dr. Carly Sawyers was so kind and sweet to me. She listened and was very helpful.
