I guess I have not been to the Bottleworks since they took away free parking and will likely not be back again because of that.

The bottle works is a congregation of restaurants coffee shops etc. It is a great spot to park your car and meander around to find a place to eat or have a conversation with friends. There are several restaurants and a good coffee shop in this location. There's also plenty of parking behind the building that give you easy access. Parking is pretty reasonable, I think $5. There's also free two hour parking available on the street in some areas. I'm 95% sure that this was the old Coca-Cola bottling plant. I seem to remember it when I was first in Athens. Outside the bottle works there are a couple of other restaurants that are easy walk as well. Lots of choices, safe, and the choices are all pretty good!

The Bottleworks is, in itself, just okay. It's the shops and restaurants that make up the Bottleworks that give it life. On premises parking is limited. Getting in and out of the on-premises lot can be difficult. There is, however, a mid-sized parking lot behind the Bottleworks that is ostensibly reserved for its customers. If you can handle the short walk go directly to this lot. My latest visit was for lunch at Viva Argentina and a whirlwind shopping stop at Revival Yarns. Lunch at Viva Argentina was top notch. Fresh and hot Beef Empanadas were the perfect companion to Butternut Squash Soup. A Red Velvet Cupcakes rounded out the meal. In case you don't know, Viva has probably the best cupcakes in Athens. And they come in two sizes! Sample a few different ones if you have room after your meal. Revival Yarns is small, charming and amazingly well stocked. In fact, their selection is as good or better than many larger shops, offering something for every budget without sacrificing quality. The owners and staff are super nice too. They are glad to advise knitters of all skill levels. The shop has two cozy knitting areas for hanging out in. The couch is comfy for prolonged sitting; it sees a lot of use during First Friday knit sessions! Be sure to scope out the shop samples when you stop in.

No thanks for taking away the free parking. Update: not sure why a parking lot needs a review. Also I don't use it and I am not about to reveal my parking strategy.

Best happy hour in Athens if you like oysters. Out door seating is available. Indoor is loud and people will hang over your shoulder at the bar to get a seat. Tasty oysters.

We had dinner at Punta Cana Latin Grill. The food was really good as were the drinks.

Great places to dine and fantastic ambiance. You can't go wrong with Viva Argentinian Food, Seaside Oyster Bar or Hendershots Coffee Bar. Very diverse.
