Receptionist was very pleasant. I was called for my procedure on time. Procedure nurses were professional and attentive. Dr.Leavett explained that there needed to be a change in the placement of the injection. As he began, he described what was going to happen. All went well. No Physical discomfort.

I am surprised I was invited to leave a review after an extremely unpleasant appointment with Dr. Leavitt. I’ve never been treated with such rudeness and impatience by a physician. I arrived into the treatment room feeling anxious, after learning I was supposed to have received a Valium Rx before my procedure. The office neglected to call it in, and the assistant shrugged it off as not necessary. This left me wondering if I knew what I was getting into with this procedure, since a Valium is recommended in advance. I was whisked onto the table in a prone position before I had a chance to speak to the doctor at all. When I raised my head to ask a question, he actually raised his voice to me and said “What are you doing?! You just need to relax.” In an effort to establish a better rapport, I said, “let’s start over, I just have some questions”, and his reply was a sarcastic “I’m NOT starting over!” I remained on that table feeling humiliated and disrespected. My blood pressure skyrocketed after the procedure. To this, the assistant’s comment was “sometimes it goes up, sometimes it goes down”, as she walked away. I really couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

Dr Leavitt has now completed the second set of medial branch test injections in order to prepare for a radio frequency ablation in my lumbar area. These worked perfectly. Everyone was pleasant and kind. The PA Karl Kline explained the procedure so well. I feel that I’m in very good hands!

I was referred to Athens Orthopedic Clinic for a trauma in 2021 that still severely impacted me in 2025. Despite seeing several doctors and going through physical therapy (which was very beneficial), chronic pain remained a relentless impediment to daily life. Within a nine-month period, I received two treatments from Dr. Hu, and the improvement in my quality of life has been remarkable. With the pain reduced, I was finally able to focus on strengthening the areas surrounding the injury, which made a meaningful difference in my recovery. Rehabilitation is not linear, but with the right team of professionals supporting the journey, progress becomes possible. Thanks to Dr. Hu and the Athens Orthopedic Clinic team, I am experiencing a much greater quality of life and renewed confidence in my recovery.

Someone needs to explain to AOC that Kaiser patients cannot get a referral the day before the appointment. Anyone that has been in the medical field more than two days knows Kaiser takes 2 weeks minimum to issue a referral. When you call me the day before my appointment and tell me you need a referral the only option is to once again cancel my appointment. The patients health suffers when this happens and this is the fourth time it has happened to me.

This facility was very easy to get to. It's across the street from the actual AOC building. I showed up on time and they took me back right away. I was scheduled for an MRI. I had no clue what to expect. It was a quick and easy process. The gentleman who was working the front desk was very friendly. The MRI technician was nice and made sure I was comfortable. They give you a changing room in which you have full access to the key. Overall had a good experience here.
