My Podiatrist Dr.Donovan Gowdie represents the epitome of what a doctor should be. Coming from NY to Athens GA, I was hesitant to find another doctor but when I went to Athens Neighborhood Clinic,he displayed a different level of kindness, gentleness & honesty that made me comfortable. Nurse McGuire was friendly & attentive. Top tier service. The CSR are real nice & knowledgeable. Just pleased to have made the transition.

My daughter is a patient here and I love the nurse practitioner who sees her , Britney. She’s very kind and answers all of my questions and concerns. My rating is a 1 star because her receptionist and scheduling staff in front is horrible, unprofessional and incapable of doing their daily tasks. I’ve always had issues with them and never once was rude. They are constantly scheduling me and then calling back stating the dr is gone or not here that day and they actually have to reschedule. It’s been happening ever since my daughter has became a pt here. Again never once gave an attitude because I work in the medical field and understand how things can be behind the scenes. Long story short the front staff messed up again and instead of taking accountability and listen to the situation the receptionist named Regina or something like that was talking over me and being extremely rude. The best part was when she forgot to mute herself and began talking to her coworker about me so I quickly insured her I heard everything she said and she then tried to say she was referring to another patient even though she clearly was not, but either way why are you speaking of any one in that matter. They need training and better staffing.

The most unprofessional front office I have ever worked with. Dr Seibel is wonderful and great to work with, but his receptionists are completely out of line. They are extremely rude to their clients and talk to them like they are children. If you are more than 15 minutes late don’t bother even coming, they won’t take you and they will give you an awful attitude if you try to reschedule. Not to mention that they will discontinue your medication without any communication ahead of time. They are terrible at communicating with pharmacies and are known for taking excessive amounts of time with little to no explanation. If you are looking for a good experience where they treat you with respect, choose an office that actually enjoys their job, NOT McKinley office.

I have many positive things to say about Athens Neighborhood Health on the east side. The whole staff is kind, efficient, and helpful. I always feel like I am in great hands when I get my yearly check up, along when I come in with other medical needs. I also have many good things to say about my doctor, Dr. Angela Thornton. She is one of the kindest doctors I have ever had in my life. She listens, cares, and makes me feel like I am at home. She is a great doctor to see, especially if you are scared of going to the doctor. She is absolutely wonderful. Thank you to her and the staff for always taking good care of me. I cannot recommend going here enough if you are in Athens/in network. - Catherine Marszalik

I'm pre-diabetic and love the fact that they were always check my diabetes like clockwork. Athens Neighborhood Health has it's good attributes but when it comes to getting test results and referrals they get an F. The staff doesn't do their job to implement what the doctor wants done for the patient. Although, this review is specific to 1 doctor, Hail Gurley Md at the Mckinley drive. I have to say I've never been so disrespected by a doctor in my life. She is cruel. I had a bad reaction to a medicine and my ear was clogged up with fluid. I was waiting for a referral for over a month and a half by college ave location. My doctor at the time was Dr. Blackburn. That's the best doctor I have ever seen besides my now regular doctor. I must've called College Ave location numerous times asking about the referral. Week after week, they kept telling me it takes time. So I waited and waited. Each time I called the person said they would look into it, nothing ever happened. By this time my ears were hurting. I couldn't listen to music in the car and noise hurt my ears. I was afraid I was losing my hearing on the right side. After being tired of waiting a month and a half. I go to the College Ave location and ask for the referral lady number. Man I shouldn't have did that. The front desk lady gave me a nasty attitude and then an administrator decides to stare at me the whole time I'm talking to the receptionist. I was getting the same old story that referral people would get to me. Finally, I ask for the referral lady's number. I call the referral lady and she tells me to come to the McKinley Dr location so she could see what was going on. I get there she looks in the system and it doesn't show anywhere in the system that I need an ear specialist referral. Even though I saw Dr. Blackburn about my ears. This sweet lady tells me she can setup a Dr. appointment in the next 30 minutes with another doctor at this location today so she can get that referral done. I was so happy I was going to get this referral I started crying while in the waiting area. I didn't go off or get angry that no one was doing their job before her. So I get back there to see Dr. Gail Hurley. This woman did everything under the sun to belittle me and shame me for coming to see her. An Example, when she was putting the Auriscope in my ears she made sure to push it down hard in my ears so it would hurt. All the while telling me I can't see different doctors. I wasn't changing doctors, the referral lady wanted me to see her so she could write the referral immediately after this doctor visit. The reason, I'm telling what happened is to warn other's about Dr. Gail Hurley. I should have reported this doctor but didn't. I knew I wasn't changing doctors but needed to get this referral done. So, after she checked my ears, she tells me to go wait in a waiting area not to far from the patient room. As I start to walk out the room Dr. Gail Hurley starts talking about my weight and not in a good way. I have been told by doctors I need to lose weight and I don't get upset when they say this because it's the truth. Although, the way she said it; this was to be mean and of no concern for my health. As I'm waiting in the waiting area she saw other patients. One after the other. At one point I ask a nurse who was walking by when the doctor was coming. She goes to ask the Dr. and finally this woman shows up. She didn't close the door so other patients right outside door could hear what she was telling me. At this time she decides to give me a piece of her mind about my ears, coming to see her and not my regular doctor. I healed my ears with Otovent Glue Ear Treatment device. The Ear Specialist said I healed myself out of fear I would lose my hearing. He had never seen this device before and was fascinated. I started using this device a week before this Dr. visit. Maybe my ears were better, that is why she was acting this way. I'm not sure. In that last room I had to beg her for this referral.

If I could give a 10-star rating I would! Just left the Athens Neighborhood Center East Athens location and I can not be more pleased and thankful and grateful. The levels of safety, professionalism, and courtesy were beyond measure. This visit was for my 16 year-old son. Scheduling the appoint was easy. They got us in as quickly as we they could (only a 2-day wait) and they called, texted and emailed us to make sure we didn't miss our appointment. Once we arrived we were checked in with all the COVID safety requirements and we were allowed to sit in car to fill out our paperwork and to wait on my son's time to be seen by the doctor. We were seen shortly after our scheduled appointment time. Our medical assistant, Ms. Kira was kind, very knowledgably and she answered all of my questions. She was very professional in the way she treated and spoke to my son. We were already very comfortable and at ease by the time we saw the doctor. Then we met, for first time, Dr. Kenney Esho. Amazing, thoughtful and brilliant can paint only a small picture of this doctor and level of service and care he extended to my son and me. He asked thorough questions about my son's medical background and what blew me away was when he also asked questions about my son's mental health. I felt he was genuinely cared about my son's overall wellbeing. n Dr. Esho also took the time ask about our family and if we ALL were okay. He took the time to answer all of my "Helicopter" mom questions and he addressed my concerns around COVID and other medical anxieties. But what I appreciated the most was his personal attention to my son. He asked all the right questions and made him feel comfortable before he had to take a few immunizations. I could go on and on about our amazing experience but I hope you get the point. The Athens Neighborhood Health Center on the Eastside is a hidden gem in the community and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Again, I wish I could give a Perfect 10 rating. Great job to everyone who helped us today. Vickie D Shell

Do not go here. It took weeks to get an appointment, when i finally got there it cost me 45 bucks and i asked for a full STD panel (which means everything). After an hour of answering every question under the sun about my entire life and some judgemental questions about my career choices i finally got my test. All they cared about was my blood pressure and kept focusing on that, they tried to get me to pay for extra tests that had nothing to do with why i was there for, which was a full panel STD test. I said it at least 10 ten times cause they kept focusing on everything else. When i finally got to leave after over an hour they tried to hook me for a another appointment 4 weeks from then and when i said no they gave an attitude. I went for my results today they barely tested for anything i said full panel over and over again if it cost extra or required extra testing they had ample opportunity to say it. So hours out of my life 45 dollars and aggravated to no end for nothing never going back for any reason. Fun fact about this review. Guess about my blood pressure now.
