I have been seeing Dr. Morel for several years and I greatly appreciate his approach to medicine. I never feel like he is rushing me through an appointment. He is thorough, takes his time, and explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. He is very logical in his approach to treatment; he starts with what he believes to be the most conservative course of treatment, but he also lays out what will happen next if that treatment does not work. He promptly answers his own messages in the MyChart portal. I don’t think I could ask for much more from a GP.

I waited for over a month for a appointment to set up a new Primary physician only to be told on the day of my appointment that certain “non narcotic” medications would not be able to be filled. Wasted over a month of my time to find a Dr.that better suites my needs. I have been on sleep medication for over 10 years after 2 sleep studies and my health was not taken into consideration at all. This was very disappointing to have a doctor be so inconsiderate.

Dr. Morel is a fantastic doctor. He makes sure each patient gets their own time no matter how busy it is. He truly cares about his patient and is the first doctor I’ve ever seen that will call you directly with lab or imaging results if something is wrong.

I am a non-emergency medical transportation driver. I have been taking a client to appointments for Dr. Morel since he started his practice on Hawthorne Ave. His last visit surprisingly he was sent back home with a prescription for another medicine when I could acknowledge the client was extremely sick and should have been sent immediately to the hospital. The very next morning, the client called me and I advised him to call an ambulance. He has been diagnosed with severe anemia along with other issues and has been in the hospital for over a week. I am very disappointed with Dr. Morel and I do not recommend him.

Called to get a new patient appointment, as I just moved to this area from 2 hours away, and I was having some health issues. The woman asked me what my insurance was, I said Cigna. Thought everything was going fine until she asked me what medications I was on. I take a medication for my fibromyalgia, I get it from my Rhuematologist, who can call it in to any pharmacy, so I didn't need this office to do any refills in the future. However the woman on the phone mande a huge deal about this, and said their office doesn't do pain management or gynecologist services, which is fine since I wasn't looking for those services. I said I didn't need that I needed a Primary Care doctor. She replied "well, I knew that." If you knew that then why even bring up the fact that you can't perform these other services, since I didn't even ask for them. She then said, well we wouldn't be able to get you in until March anyways, I said "okay," expecting to get an appointment but was hung up on. All in all, the first desk person was so rude and short that I never want to call again. I would stay far away.

Dr. Jarrard has been my GP for many years (about 6). Whenever people ask who the best internal medicine doctor in Athens is, I tell them to go see her. Period. Her focus is making you better and healthier. The clinic is very punctual and up-to-date. High marks.
