Growing up the chamber of commerce was the place 2 contact if ya needed info on ANYTHING goin' on n ur town. Now it's 4 members ONLY!! The local gov is following the feds n b n disengaged with the public!!

You learn a lot about companies and organizations when they are faced with challenges and crisis. I have always been proud of our local Chamber, but the ways in which they have kept business members informed and engaged in the last 45 days has been nothing short of remarkable. Kudos to the Athens Chamber staff and leadership! "Communication and Collaboration" are what make our community so great, thanks for setting such a great example of this! I am a new Chamber member and perhaps the newest Ambassador. If you think Chambers of Commerce are full of dull stuffed shirts you have never visited an Athens Area Chamber of Commerce event. From Chamber 101 to ribbon cuttings to after hours socials, you will meet at least one fascinating and fun new person at every event. If you are shy and standing by yourself, one of many Ambassadors will engage you in conversation and introduce you around. Unless you have been sleeping under a rock you know that UGA won the National Championship in football. There is no better time than 2022 to get involved with this outstanding Chamber of Commerce. Further, with over 600 members the staff is only two excellent full time people and one part time excellent person. All other work is done by volunteers. Quite remarkable.
